Today I want to share a couple of weight loss tips.  I also want to talk about a common problem that a lot of people that eat out often have. Eating out at restaurants and the portion sizes we are typically served these days.

So I get it eating out at restaurants or getting take out is convenient.  We live in a world where we are all running around like chickens with our heads cut off.

So we don’t always have a lot of time to grocery shop, meal prep and cook a healthy meal.

We end up getting take out or eating out a lot.  The problem has become the huge portion when we get take out which isn’t helpful if we are trying to lose weight.

Here’s a couple of weight loss tips you may find helpful.

The first tip is to split an entre, or split your food with another person.

My mom used to do this all the time with her best friend. They would go to a restaurant for lunch, look at the menu, choose something they both liked and then ask the kitchen to split 1 meal into 2. Most times the kitchen is happy to accommodate this request. So you end up saving on costs and on calorie intake.

The second tip is to order your own entre and only eat half. What you want to do is just before your meal arrives, or when it arrives, ask the server for a take out box. Then you place half of your meal in the take out box, before you start eating. This prevents you from eating 3/4 or 2/3 of your meal and then looking at the remaing food and thinking to yourself “this is not enough for another meal I might as well eat it now”.   You end up leaving the restaurant completely stuffed. When you do this a couple times a week, or more, this is what contributes to weight gain.  So by using this tip, you will feel better if you eat half and take home half to have the next day.

If you found these tips helpful and you are on a weight loss journey to transform your relationship with food, and make it better, then you may want to consider our closed Facebook Group.

It’s called Willpower and Weight Loss Questions group for like minded individuals. When you request to join we will ask you a couple of questions to ensure that the group is a fit for you.
